'It's fine to skip school...'

Is it? Is this really OK to 'work from home' as a child? Where does this stem from? Clearly Covid has had an impact on schooling, not that we're trying to preach to the converted. But is it true that parental working patterns i.e. working from home is now rubbing off on our children, and that parents see this as acceptable for schooling? It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, there is absolutely no substitute for being in a classroom. Face to face teaching of children is fundamentally important for a whole host of reasons; social interactions, deeper understanding of the curriculum, confidence etc. etc. So are parents to blame for this shift in culture or is this a little more nuanced? We feel it may be the latter. What do you think? Have your say in the forum or comment below. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
